A Bluebell Walk took place on Sunday afternoon (24th April 2016) at Tushingham Hall, near Whitchurch raising over £ 2,000 in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd at Backford, Chester and Tushingham Church.

The walk takes place by kind permission of Chamber member Peter Moore-Dutton every year and was supported by members Marketing PRojects who celebrate 21 years in business this year with 21 charity events.  The ladies of Tushingham Church provided afternoon tea on the lawn with scones and home-made jam. The Malpas Fundraising Group of the Hospice helped with the cake, produce and bric-a-brac stalls.

Host Peter Moore-Dutton said: “We had a very pleasant and fine afternoon with very good support from nearly 300 visitors. The walk round the lake and through the woods was particularly stunning this year with a carpet of bluebells adorning the wood and no sign of rain. It was lovely to see so many visitors and supporters and be able to thank them for their generosity.”

Sarah Collard, Chairwoman of the Malpas Fundraising Group for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd said: “A big thank you to everyone for their support on such a fresh and beautiful day. The bluebells were amazing, as always and such a pleasure to walk amongst.”

She added; “There is a parade through Chester on Thursday (28th April) to launch the public appeal for daycare services at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd at Backford. It starts from the Town Hall at 11am returning there at 11.30 for a reception at 11.30.”
