Keynote Systems (now Dynatrace)

Keynote Systems is a web site performance measurement organisation measuring the speed it takes to download a web site from all over the world – important to clients like lastminute.com, tesco, Amazon, Barclays & Google. Marketing Projects was asked to launch the company in the UK and build their European press network, working with them through their IPO (Initial Public Offering).

Brief

Marketing PRojects was responsible for managing PR and Marketing tasks for Keynote from the UK and Europe;

*Organising press tours to the US.
*Generating case studies highlighting clients’ success stories

*Liaising with the US press office to issue their news in a suitable format for the UK press.
*Developing face to face contact for senior visiting executives from the US.

*Generating regular columns in targeted UK publications like Computing which published the ‘Keynote Web performance Index’.
*Organising press & client lunches also ‘one to one’ press briefings and media training.

*Setting up PR services from major countries in Europe for the US operation.

Results

When the first ever major world-wide IT virus hit the internet Keynote had over 40 press mentions – of the ‘denial of service’ attacks which overloaded servers. We were on Radio 2, Bloomberg TV, in all 5 broadsheet dailies and the major trade publications with comments, quotes, facts and figures. All from a laptop in a hotel room in London.

Work extended to regular liaison visits to California and Europe.

Over 50 high quality, regular appearances in the UK IT, business and national press in six months from launch in the UK, regular weekly index in Computer Weekly. Appearances in both the Financial Times and the Guardian twice. Interview on Bloomberg TV. Interview on BBC Radio 4.
