Marketing PRojects was contacted by Nemysys Events to pull together a PR plan for the new exhibition Chester Business, with a six week window before the show.

Although very tight, Marketing PRojects worked to the deadlines to supplement limited radio ads, flyers and a web site to promote to local, regional business press and radio. It also developed sponsorship, more exhibitors and launched a show award. Pre and post releases were issued and activities included running the press office for the two day show.

Over 100 exhibitors including O2, The Princes Trust, The Chamber of Commerce, Makro, Business Networks International, Cheshire County Council, Yorkshire Bank, The Enterprise Agency & many more enjoyed a highly successful event, which welcomed nearly 1000 visitors. The packed seminars inspired many, covering finance, marketing, sales, purchasing, personnel and logistics and presenting on topics such as starting up, networking, trading standards, saving money on your utilities and maximising your PR.

The local MP handed the award out for Chester’s Best New Business, sponsored by O2.

Commenting about the exhibition, YE Magazine’s editor said;
“It went great for us! We had a steady stream of visitors to our stand all day. We were still there at the end talking to people about YEM. We made some great contacts and will definitely be doing business that will outweigh the cost of the exhibition. The marketing director of one company that we met yesterday called us at 9 this morning to follow up on spending money with us!”

Jane Harrad-Roberts of Marketing Projects added;
“The first ever motor show opened in Paris with nine exhibitors, we had over 100 here. In 1915 the first business exhibition was the British Industries Fair held in a line of huts near Castle Bromwich station, this later became the NEC. We can grow!”
