Social Values & Sustainability

“In the future, the needs of our clients will increasingly become defined not just by profit, but by social values, by sustainable growth and sustainable development.
Marketing PRojects’ long-term success, how this success is measured locally and internationally, the stability and health of the global economy and the natural world we live in, all depend on it.
Climate change is a global challenge for us all and will need us all to work together.”

Jane Harrad-Roberts, Founder & Managing Director, August 2021

During lockdown, Jane completed a post graduate course at Oxford University on Social Entrepreneurship and we hope that we and those that know us will be able to contribute to ‘making a difference’, guiding principles since Marketing PRojects was founded 27 years ago.

This is why we are monitoring the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (seen above) and trying to promote and live by them. The Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.

Some statistics on how our carbon emissions as a company and as individuals changed in 2021 compared with 2020 (figures Dec. to Dec. unless otherwise stated).

Travel (air)                                 down 82%

Travel (petrol)                           down 38% (October)

Waste (general)                        down 35% (general waste to recycled)

Energy consumption               down 26% (HLP)

Water use                                down 15%

Although we are not carbon offsetting or achieving Net Zero (yet!) we are doing our bit, as everyone can. You may see us at events and meetings wearing a Sustainable Development Goals badge to prompt conversations and see our work for Green Expo 2022 and AIFCA. We hope to catch up with you during 2022 and let you know how we are getting on and see how you’re progressing. No ‘Green Washing’, no negativity, only positive encouragement and a will to succeed.

‘Baby steps’ welcome!
